"I'm just really bullheaded."
Went to James H. "Sloppy" Floyd SP yesterday and, man, I feel like a badass. I really wanted to check out the Marble Mine trail cause that overhang cave thing looked really cool. After I parked and headed towards the start of the trail, I realized I'd be right behind a couple of grandparents who were constantly yelling at the small children they had with them. Since the trails I wanted to do made a loop, I decided to head in the opposite direction.
AND HOO BOY
The normal order for the loop is Marble Mine trail to the Pinhoti trail to the Jenkins Gap trail. I took the Upper Lake trail to Jenkins Gap and went up from there instead.
DIRECTLY UP.
Man, this trail is not for the faint of heart comin' OR goin'. I was having to break every little bit to catch my breath and kept thinking, 'oh I'm sure it'll level out here soon'. Ha. Wasn't til I was on my umpteenth break that I saw the sign saying "Steep trail. Use caution."
But I did it. I stubborned my way up the damn thing to the Pinhoti.

Signage was a bit lacking on these trails and I had to kind of guess which was which.
I was really in awe of the super cool rocks everywhere. The waterfall over the cave did not disappoint and I'd have to admit looking back into the tunnel behind the walkway reeeeally made me wanna go explore.
